Chekas United FC booked their place in the final of the Spires 5-Aside Badagry Division after defeating All Saints FC 3–2 on penalties following a thrilling 1–1 draw in regulation time.
The semi-final encounter lived up to expectations as both sides battled fiercely for a place in the divisional final. All Saints FC struck first from open play, taking the lead and putting Chekas United under pressure.
However, Chekas United responded positively and continued to push forward in search of an equalizer. Their persistence paid off when they were awarded a penalty, which was confidently converted by Justin Hezekiah. The forward, who finished among the highest goalscorers in the previous edition of the tournament, kept his composure to level the score and bring his side back into the contest.
With neither team able to find a winner before the final whistle, the match proceeded to a penalty shootout. Chekas United held their nerve from the spot, converting three penalties and producing a decisive performance to secure a 3–2 shootout victory.
The win extends Chekas United’s impressive run in the competition, having previously defeated Divinely Blessed FA 4–0 in the qualifiers. The team will now turn its attention to the divisional final, where they will have the opportunity to compete for the Badagry Division title.
